Is my own heart in the right place?

Chatting with the Texas man gave me the perspective upon self reflection. On this forum we often say modernity is depraved and in a moral decline, which isn’t wrong, but what about introspection upon ourselves?

Are we depraved ourselves? What of our own heart? Or own actions? Humanity is prone to sin and do wrongs, which is why Jesus (from the Christian perspective of course) is needed(works through faith)

What are your thoughts? Yes, the OT view i held is coming in conflict with the Christian view I once had.
